Booking a Visit
We run out of Tomball, about 19 miles from Aldine, so a visit here goes on the schedule rather than a same-day swing-by. Tell us the door's age, the opener type if you know it, and whether you want a straight swap or something different sized for the opening. We'll quote the install off that and set a date. If you're not sure whether your door is a repair or a full replace, say so when you call - we'll ask a few questions about the symptoms before we commit you to a truck roll for either job.
How Long It Takes
A standard single-door install, old door off and new one set, balanced, and opener reconnected, is usually a half-day job. Double doors or anything with custom sizing, insulated panels, or a opener upgrade can run longer. Because the trip from Tomball is 19 miles each way, we block enough of the day to do the job right rather than rush it to squeeze in a second stop - which means we're not the company to call if you need a door installed same morning.
What Is on the Truck
For an Aldine install we bring standard steel sectional doors in common residential widths, torsion spring sets sized to the door weight, galvanized track, and a couple of opener lines - chain and belt drive. The heat band here runs moderate, so we don't carry the heavier insulated packages some colder-climate jobs need; a standard-weight door with a basic weatherseal does the job for most Aldine houses. What we don't carry on the truck is custom wood or oversized commercial-grade doors - those get special-ordered and scheduled separately, which adds lead time you should plan for up front.
What the Fix Involves
Installation means pulling the old door, hardware and all, off the frame, checking that the frame itself is square and sound (it should be, on a house of this age, barring water damage), then setting new track, springs sized to the new door's weight, and the panel sections. We test the balance by hand before the opener ever touches it, then mount and program the opener, set the travel limits, and check the safety reversal. One honest limit: we don't do framing repair. If the opening itself is out of square or the header's rotted, that's a carpenter's job first - we'll tell you plainly if we see it before we start.
